Church of St Peter Ad Vincula, Wisborough Green

West Sussex

This project involved the re-ordering of the church to provide modern and dynamic spaces that create both practical and visually appealing areas.

Two new bespoke vestries were created with carved oak panelling and etched enamelled glass panels and doors, created by the highly regarded specialist Mel Howse.

Alterations to both the North and South porch entrance areas, including new glazed entrance doors, altering the original oak door to the North Porch and providing a new oak door to the South with glazed inserts. The stone steps were re-organised with some additional stonework to provide better access to the church.

A new bespoke sliding oak servery cabinet that can be swung out to provide facilities when required and stored neatly against the Nave wall when not.

The organ was carefully dismantled so it could be refurbished but also allowed for its platform to be raised providing much enhanced space below. This created a space for a new accessible toilet, a further wc, baby changing facilities, flower arranging storage and new stairs to the organ. This area was clad with oak and glass panels to provide a stunning feature that tied in with the new vestries.
