Church of St Peter Ad Vincula, Wisborough Green

West Sussex

Our work included re-ordering parts of this 11th Century church to create modern and dynamic spaces, providing both practical and visually appealing areas.

Two new bespoke vestries were installed with carved oak panelling and etched enamelled glass panels and doors created by the highly regarded specialist, Mel Howse.

Changes to both the north and south porch entrance areas included new glazed entrance doors, alterations to the original oak door to the north porch and a new oak door to the south with glazed inserts. The stone steps were re-organised with some additional stonework to provide better access to the church.

A bespoke, sliding oak servery cabinet, that can be swung out to provide facilities when required and stored neatly against the Nave wall when not, was also constructed and installed.

The organ was carefully dismantled for refurbishment, which allowed for its platform to be raised, creating a space below for two new toilets, baby changing facilities, flower-arranging storage, and new stairs to the organ. The area was clad with oak and glass panels to provide a stunning feature that tied in with the new vestries.
